About Us

Rick and Wendy JensenWendy Jensen is a stay at home mom of six children.  She spends her time scraping fossilized cereal off the hardwood floor, pulling marbles out of her baby's mouth, cleaning mud off her kids' tennis shoes, changing diapers, wiping up spilled milk, treating boo boos with band-aids and kisses, reading stories, and navigating a pathway through her kids’ messy bedrooms in order to find the children for prayers and goodnight hugs and kisses….

Her favorite saying are, "Will somebody please help me?"   "Shhhh!  Quiet, please!"  "Everybody just calm down!"

In her "spare time," she likes to read (or listen to audio books since she doesn't have time to read), write, work-out, interpret for the deaf, and spend time with her cute hubbie, Rick.   She has authored "Positive Parenting," www.firstratefamily.com, "Sign Language for Babies and Beyond," www.signing4babies.com, and has compiled the book, "Fun Family Traditions and Rituals," www.firstratefamily.com/articles, and "Celebrating Motherhood," www.celebratingmother.com  She has a free on-line parenting newsletter that currently has 10,000 subscribers from all over the world.

Jensen FamilyRick Jensen is the father of the same six delightful kids.  He does all his own ironing and also does the grocery shopping (so if the kids are living off hot-dogs, that's why).  He changes diapers and cooks great Chinese food which the kids hate but Wendy loves. He masterfully tells the kids stories (that are sometimes just a bit too scary), cheers the kids' on at sporting events and teaches them computer skills, singing, and how to throw a good April Fool's prank (although they don't really need any help in that area).  Rick plans and implements fun family vacations and has learned NOT to ask Wendy what she has been doing all day. Rick works full-time teaching youth at the high school level.  He does all of the computer techie stuff for Rick and Wendy's web-sites.  He owns his own recording studio and writes and records his own music.  He is the owner of "Harmony Audio Recordings" and records books on audio.  He is also the director of the Hands in Harmony Carolers.  He is currently taking classes towards a Ph.D. in Marriage, Family, and Human Development.  Rick loves to sing, travel, and spend time with his wife and kids!
